Caring For More Than Just Skin - Kindness In Business
2020 was a year that showed just how much kindness in business was needed, and it was a year that made us want to do even more.
As a business that has a global reach through both our supply chains and customers, it is very important that we show kindness, respect and fairness to every living being as we continue to develop and grow.
Pushing The Boundaries Of Beauty
Beauty should be constantly evolving, and that’s why we choose to do things a little differently to others in the industry.
- We only use fairly traded Mica to prevent the ethical issues that can arise from this mineral
- All of our products are vegan and we’ve achieved Vegan Society certification for 25 of our products with the rest in the pipeline. This means that no animals were used in either the testing or production of the products and its ingredients.
- We were in a position to donate £33,910 to key workers and overworked NHS staff throughout the pandemic.
Diverse inside and out
We are extremely proud of our team, and they bring different skills to your skincare from all around the world.
The majority of senior roles are held by women, with women making the vast majority of our team at Evolve. Our hiring process to remove unconscious bias helps to ensure our business is one in which the best person truly does get the job.
To further support diversity, we have committed to make our social media images inclusive and diverse and our founder Laura has also been mentoring BAME women beauty entrepreneurs.
In 2021 we will be releasing a wide range of shades of our tinted Climate Veil SPF to ensure that there is a shade to suit every skin tone.
Kindness Is An Unlimited Resource
Kindness doesn’t have to end just because good has been done, as there is always more good to do! That’s why we’ve chosen a number of targets for the next year and beyond that we feel will have a positive effect on both people and animals.
In 2021 we will certify our remaining products with the Vegan Society and aim to obtain the Leaping Bunny Certification too. We have never, and will never test on animals, and gaining these certifications is independent verification of our ethical standards in this area.
It takes a global team to make our products, and that’s why by 2023 we are going to map out our entire supply chain, from field to factory to give us total transparency on workers rights and help us to understand our entire supply chain impact.
Closer to home, we pay all of our team a living wage and do not use zero hours contracts, and we hope to achieve Living Wage and Living Hours certification which is an independent verification of this by the end of 2021.
It’s going to be a busy year, but progress is never made by standing still.
