MAKERS SERIES: MAKE YOUR OWN PUMPKIN FACE MASK

Once you’ve finished carving your pumpkin this year, don’t throw away the inside!

Put your pumpkin’s guts to some good use this Halloween and make a natural, rejuvenating pumpkin face mask! (This also doubles up as a super scary costume!)

Pumpkin is our Autumn skincare hero, as it is packed full of amazing properties for all different skin types.

PUMPKIN SKIN BENEFITS:

-Pumpkins are rich in vitamins, C , K and E as well as Carotenoids giving it the bright orange colour. This makes it amazing at rejuvenating skin leaving it super nourished and radiant, evening skin tone and protecting the skin from free radicals, helping to prevent wrinkles and fine lines.

-Not only are they packed with vitamins, Pumpkins are also full of enzymes that help to dissolve dry skin cells, leaving skin fresh and glowing.

-Pumpkins contain zinc, which helps to control hormone levels and oil production. This helps with skin healing, reduces skin irritation, diminishes the appearance of pores and controls excess oil to prevent the appearance of blackheads and blemishes.

-Pumpkin has a very small molecular structure so it can penetrate deeper into the skin, making it great for moisturising and hydrating ageing skin.

STEP 3

pumpkin face mask honey

Add a tablespoon of honey. The honey will ensure long lasting hydration PLUS it has antibacterial effects; the perfect addition to the amazing pumpkin.

For oily skin:  Exchange the honey for a splash of apple cider, this will help to minimize pores and prevent the overproduction of oil.

 STEP 4

pumpkin face mask mixture

Make sure that all of the ingredients have blended together and then smooth over cleansed skin. Leave on your face for 10-15 minutes.
This is the time to scare your neighbours!
