why we developed evolve

we looked around for affordable skincare we trusted in environmentally friendly packaging and we didn't like what we found. everything looked old fashioned and smelled boring. there was very little available in recycled packaging. we thought "we can do a better job than this!" so we developed evolve.

laura rudoe - founder and creator

 

The founder and driving force behind evolve, Laura has always had an interest in ethical and environmentally friendly business practices.  She is also passionate about food and wellbeing, and has worked extensively using alternative medicine and nutrition to improve her own health. These ideas about natural food-based ingredients working in balance with the body inspired the development of the evolve range.
 
 
Laura has spent much of her career in the ethical space, previously working as an ethical venture capitalist investing in eco and ethical businesses. During an MBA at Harvard Business School, she focused her work on the challenges faced by the growing movement of businesses seeking to bring ethical products into the mainstream. Returning to London after Harvard, Laura became the founding employee and head of development at the award-winning skincare range nude skincare. 
 
 
In September 2008, newly pregnant and seeking a work-life balance where she could combine motherhood (Laura recently became the proud mum of baby Daniel) with her passion of creating ethical businesses, Laura set up Good Ventures, an ethical development company, with the aim of creating several new companies.  Laura searched for, but couldn’t find, a range of affordable yet desirable organic toiletries, and this led to the idea for evolve.

Vi was totally invaluable as we developed our range of products. she is an expert product developer, previously creating award winning products at nude skincare and elemis. sadly now, vi has gone on to pastures new as she has taken on a new full time role, but is still involved on an advisory basis.

 

rebecca goodyear

the multi talented rebecca is an ambassador for evolve in store where she helps us with our demonstrations, as well as with the press, where she helps communicate information about new product launches and coordinate coverage.

 

evolve insiders

we developed evolve as an "inside out" company from the very beginning. we involved everyday people and ethical experts in all decisions from what we should be called, how everything should look, what the products should be and how they worked. we have kept everyone up to date on the latest developments using an email newsletter. if you would like to become an insider, you can join in here.
